Studying educational psychology

Studying educational psychology at uni will provide a scientific study of children and adolescents’ minds and behaviour in relation to education. You’ll explore how individuals learn and develop by looking at the main principles of psychological theory and examining how they’re applied to education, in terms of teaching, learning and assessment. You’ll also explore areas like the effect of wellbeing on learning, ethics in teaching and how different personality types respond to different teaching methods. Many educational psychology degrees also include practical work placements, giving you real-life work experience in educational environments like schools, nurseries and other early years settings. With an educational psychology degree, you’ll be able to go into various roles within education and psychology, including teaching, mentoring, therapy and educational social work.
