Paleontology is a scientific study that looks at the history of life through ancient artefacts. A degree in paleontology can lead to careers including environmental specialist, research assistant, mineral specialist or scientific journalist. During your studies, you’ll learn about topics such as biodiversity, earth sciences, evolution, animal biology and ecological systems. Some degrees in paleontology might be accredited by the Geological Society of London. You may have the option to do a placement as part of your degree, which will give you the chance to gain real workplace experience and get a taste of the career you might have after you graduate.
