As a comparative literature student, you can expect to read texts from a range of different cultures. You’ll learn about world literature and compare texts across different cultures and historical moments. These degrees often have a lot of personalisation available, meaning you can tailor your degree to suit your interests in literature. As well as studying literature, you’ll also study literary theory to help contextualise and compare different texts. As a graduate, you could opt to study a master’s degree in literature or culture or go into work. Roles popular with comparative literature graduates include marketing, writing, journalism, teaching, media and charity-sector work.
