Studying American history

On an American history degree you’ll learn all about the context and history of the United States. Your degree will explore the development of America from a colony to a global superpower, and you’ll cover topics including slavery, the Civil War, Native American history, American politics and law, and consider how this influences the modern day. After graduating, you could opt to study an MA in History, or you can get right into work. Common career paths include teaching, archivist, museum officer, marketer and more. You may need additional qualifications for some of these roles.
