Studying medical radiology

Radiology is a medical discipline that uses pictures and imaging to diagnose diseases and guide treatments. Studying medical radiology at uni combines science, technology and patient care, as you’ll learn about how X-rays and other ionising radiations can be used to treat patients. You’ll be taught how to plan and deliver effective treatments while working on your interpersonal skills in practical settings. You’ll find plenty of opportunities to go into further study in this field, either to gain a deeper understanding of the subject or to specialise in a certain area. A degree in radiology will help set you up for a career in the medical industry, in roles like radiologist, radiographer, radiologic technologist and ultrasound technician.
