Studying ancient history

Studying ancient history at uni will give you an insight into the truly fascinating ancient world, as you learn about past civilisations which are still influential today. Your course could cover major periods in time and societies such as the ancient Greeks and Romans, or the kingdoms of the Near East and the networks in North Africa. You’ll get up close to ancient societies and cultures as you go about unravelling the past and engaging with the history of the ancient world. You’re likely to work with a variety of sources, from literary texts to ancient artefacts and could do a year abroad or learn a language as part of your degree.
