As a student of Asian studies, you’ll be learning about the culture, society and history of the country or countries your degree focuses on. You’ll likely study elements of culture such as literature, art, politics and philosophy to deepen your knowledge of Asian cultures. There may also be a language element to your course, where you’ll study one or more Asian languages. Some courses offer a year abroad, where you’ll be able to study in the country you’re learning about to fully immerse yourself in the culture. Popular career paths include translators, teachers, marketing, political consultant and policy advisor.
