There is a lot of support you can get whilst studying at ucb.
There is enough time with tutors and lecturers also opportunities for extra support.
It’s a good place because the lectures will help you in any way they can to help you understand the work better
I like having a health hub where we will be able to do simulations of different scenarios
They have great group sizes and have the good occasional group seminar and are very informative,
Informative with techniques for everyday interaction from workplace to social situations. Easy to navigate through the course.
University College Birmingham has a good environment for students to study. The teachers are very helpful and caring and they teach the student very well that everyone understands easily.
Best: Teacher Environment Facility Worst: I dont see any worst in case of ucb
Overall, I can say I've had only positive experiences since I joined the uni last September. Safeguarding is in place, and within my course I receive maximum support. One thing that needs improvement is the student services team needs to respond to email/ chat inquiries and other student issues on time or as soon as possible as most student issues are important and they need to be resolved on time.
My course is fantastic and tutors are very helpful.
The best aspects of my uni experience is meeting new people and making new friends. Also, the teachers and people here are positive and helpful. Have access to good support from teachers, facilities, resources, library, DICE etc which are really helpful. What makes it a great place to study is that there are libraries and computer rooms for if you need any support with something or need to get your work done, and also little spots, like areas inside the university thats are very quiet and relaxing to do extra study. As for the worst aspects of my uni experience, I would say that there is too much information taught and therefore is rather hard and complex to understand. It could be improved by including more group or team activities and less slides but more discussing and explaining the work to gain better knowledge and understanding of the modules taught making it easier to complete all assignments and work.
The best aspects of my course is that it is in-class learning. Due to this, there is a more effective and better understanding of the work as I can ask lecturers many questions face to face and get the answers to all those questions that I have. I can also put my hand up if I don't understand anything and get help and support from the lecturers and with resources instead of being confused and misled. Also, it is better as I have peers around me who can help me with some information or work that I am unsure or confused about and can get extra reassurance, help and support from them. The worst aspects of my course is the course hours. The day is extremely long and we have 2 hour break in between which is unnecessary, I would rather prefer 1 hour break as there is nothing really to do within the break and also it would be better as we could leave earlier. Also, I dislike the fact that the lessons are 3 hours each, as it just gets very tiring and is extending the day longer. It would be better if it was just 2 hours instead that way we would leave university earlier and be able to have the rest of the day to ourselves completing work and assignments, getting everything done and meeting all deadlines on time achieving the best grades possible.
Studying at University College Birmingham (UCB) has been an enriching experience, offering a practical and hands-on approach to learning. The institution's emphasis on practical education, particularly in T-levels, has provided students with valuable real-world experience and skills. Moreover, UCB fosters a supportive academic community, with approachable teachers who have valuable industry experience. The smaller class size allows for more personalised interactions between students and teachers, creating a conducive learning environment. UCB's location in Birmingham is very advantageous, providing me with numerous networking opportunities. The university's strong ties with businesses and organizations facilitate valuable work placements, enabling me and others to build a strong professional network and gain practical insights into their fields of study. However, the limited range of extracurricular activities restricts my overall experience as I am unable to socialise and network as much as I'd like to. In conclusion, UCB's practical approach to education, it's supportive academic community, and strong industry connections have so far provided me with a valuable foundation for my learning and future career.
The Level 3 T-level Technical Qualification in Digital Production Design and Development at UCB stands out for its comprehensive curriculum and industry relevance. It's taught by experienced teachers and encourages a supportive learning environment, which helps me develop my programming skills effectively. My class is taught in class, making it easier to be focused and ask for help when needed. My course involves the integration of industry placements, which provides me with invaluable practical experience, enhancing my learning and boosting my future employability. UCB's technical facilities, including computer labs, help me to learn practically about the hardware side of my course. My course involves going to school for 3 days a week, equalling to around 21 hours for the 3 days. I think this approach is useful as Thursday and Friday is for my work placement. Furthermore, this gives me more time to revise what I've learnt so that I remember it more clearly and I come back to class remembering more from the previous day. The supportive and personalised guidance from my teachers contribute to my overall learning experience, enabling me to excel academically in school and during my industry placement. The program's emphasis on fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills prepares me for the field I'd like to pursue in the future. With its hands-on approach, industry integration, and supportive academic environment, the Digital Production Design and Development T-level program at UCB serves as an excellent foundation for students aspiring to thrive in the tech industry.
A university practical class is a great place to study. Live Practical season.
Best course is Culinary Arts Development. Worst course is Managing for profit
Easy to find the uni location
Honestly, UCB as an all rounder are a very supportive uni. From lectures to , student well-being to finance issues , they respond quickly and there is always a helping hand. Ucb cafe/ moss house and all the food spots are really good and the student discount s and attention to different celebrations like Ramadan, black history month, Christmas etc is nice to see on campus.
I do enjoy my course, however , I didn’t think I would be relearning ally of content which I already completed at college. Saying this, I do not think there is anything wrong with a recap on information that relates to my future job role. However, it seems a little basic for the course that I’m doing and some modules I believe I could teach myself .
Individual tutorial is the best part for student.
Field visit and educational tour make us feel amazing which help us to engaged with new people and learn new culture.
