Everything is great but I would love to have a more beautiful campus with a range of facilities for courses like digital marketing and business.
Needs more tutor contact time and subject facilities. But they are trying their best so, Im not putting any blame.
Not a good area for safety. So many people using drugs and looking for trouble.
Needs more efforts in property management.
- easy to apply - friendy teaching - could be more financial support for students - could be provided free travel passes for students - could be provided food vouchers
- online classes, it could be more of that - group seminars/ individual/group professional discussions - should be removed
I believe there should be more clarity on assignments and teaching then just coming and telling how helpful the college is always
It's just theoretical nothing practical
It's pretty safe here but very expensive like nobody should pay this much for basic essentials
University College Birmingham is one of best for international student.Being an international student we need a friendly environment where we can read peacefully and adapt quickly so UCB is one of them. The staffs and lecturers here are very friendly as well. The facilities are very good in UCB for everyone.
The lectures are friendly at UCB. The way they teach us every subject is very unique they make sure each of understands every single thing.UCB has one of the most friendly lecturers. They make sure we get along with each and every student of the class. The courses are taught in very effective way as well. Being an international student we are able to join placement as well because of UCB.
The university has a variety of outstanding facilities across all its departments, for example the airplane cabin for the hospitality & tourism students, the many well equipped kitchens and the restaurant for the cookery students and many more. The student services and financial teams are very helpful, supportive and fantastic at accommodating! The one thing that needs improving would be the meal support allowance, this is not enough for a proper meal, you can usually only get a sandwich, not even a drink to go with it and definitely not any hot food.
The course is fantastic, is not at all overbearing or overwhelming. It provides all the knowledge and skills whilst remaining an enjoyable and practical learning experience. The course hours are good, as when we are in it is usually a full, tiring day however we do get a couple of days off in a week which is a great bonus. Staff are easy to contact and usually respond quite quickly.
Its is good
Addendence
I think it needs to improve , a lot of people live far nd need support with the bus pass and have applied been waiting for more then 2 weeks for example me .It’s a great place to study as we have teachers tht support you and a good environment
The course is great
This University is in a good location for students to access. The buildings are modern and comfortable to use. There are alot of amazing clubs to join, which could be a struggle to decide how to split ones time between all the fantastic opportunities on offer. Kick start is a brilliant idea and really helps out broadly across university financial demands, from uniforms, books, food and more. The staff are very supportive and approachable. The support does not stop at the lecturing staff, as there are a wide range of carefully thought through facilities and programmes to help students where they need support or advice. There is much diversity in the canteens, lots of flavours to excite any pallet. There are services on offer to students, to include hair dressing and beauty treatments, skin care, physiotherapy, massage and foods prepared and provided by university students. The university's approach to 'being inclusive of all students needs and requirements' may not be as sensitive as it should be and adjustments do need to be made, but the university is aware that they cant get everything right first time, all the time, so offer a place for concerns, comments and suggestions. There are student unions available where these issues can be raised on behalf of the students. A positive approach to negative situations!
Every lecture is recorded, which is brilliant because they are accessible at anytime to revisit. The lecture slides are available before the lectures and students are encouraged to view and print in preparation for classes. Careful thought has been put into the different learning and teaching styles and for this reason, lecturer's change groups to allow a more even delivery of course content. The balance between lectures and personal study is good but sometimes the large size of the class can affect the quality of learning. Prompts and resource links are constantly being emailed to students, these can be very useful, if utilised.
The campus at University College Birmingham is modern and has a good atmosphere. The quality of teaching and education at University College Birmingham is excellent. The teachers are very friendly and motivated. This is my first year and I also don’t know how to referencing in assignments but they guide me properly and I can do it now so easily. And also the location of the university is quite better place, Birmingham is generally considered safe, with safety levels comparable to other major UK cities
Course assessment: 50 percent course work, 45 percent project or assessments, 5 percent written exam. Weekly 13-14 hours classes. And we have a student portal where we can find out all the information of classes
My best experience was starting out, I was constantly overwhelmed by the feeling of maturity and was amazed by the great facilities in the buildings. My worst would be finishing late and that’s it
I have a great relationship with my tutors and they’re always there when I need them. Occasionally my course is draining
