The most important thing about selecting a university is the course that you choose. It needs to be suitable because changing uni’s in between the year doesn’t really work well. The facilities are good at Bucks and provide me with everything that I require. I think the location does not matter too much if you are set on your studies because there is not that much free time. If you want to have a big party scene then a bigger university is needed because this is not it.
Bucks University in High Wycombe is cute! It is like a big family, graduating this year I do not want to leave! I will however be happy when the works over! It is not amazing but is good value and it gives you everything that you need. You can genuinely build a friendship with the tutors and lecturers they will help you as much as they can. Love the big deal with sports and societies here, everyone gets on. We work hard and we play hard!!
During my whole degree I have not regretted coming to this university. Coming to Bucks has allowed me to make some of my best friends of my life and I really hope that after we graduate I stay in touch with them and maybe we’ll work together in the industry. I can thank Bucks for such a good experience here, I think everything has been really good and I would recommend coming here for both the university and the courses teaching.
Bucks New University is a good university for creative subjects. It is very good for student involvement and lots of free opportunities. There is a lot of support for student’s available, try to make the most of it. However it is a very very small university so everyone tends to know each other which can get a bit intense however it can be comforting and quite nice at times too. The university itself is in a good location to the shops, cinema and places to eat.
I have NOTHING good to say about this university. The halls were disgusting! Brook Street looked like a prison and the rest of them were overpriced! The letting agents are crooks! WARNING DO NOT TRUST CHILTERN HILLS AGENTS. The houses here are a disgrace. The people here are vile unintelligent chavs and look like they've been dragged through the bush backwards. The same goes for most of the students that decide to go here, most of them only went here because they didn't get the right grades or chose to go here because it's not difficult to get in. I only chose to go here because it was one of the few Unis that did my course. Fortunately it was after my first year I was given the option to change universities but stupidly chose not to. I found I was learning EXACTLY the same things I was taught at college! It's an absolute joke! There is nothing to do out here. Seriously. It's not built for students. I am now leaving this terrible place as I cannot stand to be here for one more moment.
This uni is very good at specific courses. The Dance and Music courses here are well equiped and the tutors are amazing. They help with anything. The student union is free for the students and just a cheap entrance for others. We have great live music and theres always something going on if its just a weekly comedy night or a massive Ball. Another plus, we got 2 weeks of FRESHERS! How cool is that?! Accommodation prices are slightly over the top but what else is to expect when so close to London... Societies are MASSIVE! Expecially Cheer and Dance soceities! Going into international competitions! We got about every sport available at this uni so you are free to do anything you love and can even make your own society if you are missing something. Facilities are good but can be improved. The library is huge and sometimes quite loud.. lot's of lecture rooms which you can work in or studios to dance in, music studios, a great art, fashion and furniture section too.
