At Sheffield Hallam, each course has individual entry requirements. These include GCSEs and A levels/BTECs, or equivalent. Students may need relevant experience to study in a specific subject area and they may be invited to interview.
Tariff points
Like other UK universities, Sheffield Hallam uses tariff points to display its entry requirements. Students get points from achieving grades in a range of qualifications and these make up the total UCAS points.
Since undergraduate courses at Sheffield Hallam University are delivered in English, individuals who are not native English speakers are required to demonstrate a basic level of English proficiency before starting their studies. Facilities
The university has two campuses in Sheffield, respectively located in the city centre, and the Ecclesall Road student district.

Sheffield Hallam’s support team provides dedicated and confidential support to prospective, current and graduate students on a range of issues.
Upon enrolment, students are allocated three dedicated advisors to support them through to graduation.
Health and wellbeing
There is an independent health service provided by a local GP partnership at each campus.
The wellbeing service offers self-help resources, group workshops and wellbeing appointments. There is also a comprehensive service for disabled students.
Childcare
Childcare support is available at the on-campus nursery, which takes children aged six months to five years. Full daycare is available for up to 50 weeks a year, including term-time contracts.

Scholarships and funding
Sheffield Hallam is providing more than £5 million in financial support for students in 2024-25. The following scholarships are available for 2024-25:
Student success scholarship
Between £500 and £2,000 is on offer, plus extra support is available to students based on students’ income, course type and personal circumstances.
Care leaver bursary
Those leaving care could be eligible for up to £3,500 for each year of their course.
Performance athletes support programme
Up to £3,000 and a comprehensive support package is available for those who compete in sports at the highest level.
Fees
Sheffield Hallam’s tuition fees for UK students starting full-time undergraduate courses starting in 2024 are £9,250 per year.
Courses beginning in 2024 which include a placement year will pay a reduced fee of £1,200 during the placement year.
In addition to this, up to £9,706 is available in funding to help eligible students with living costs.
