It’s a trolling experience studying at this Ancient University. The university experience was very different from other universities in the UK as it is rooted to its core value of traditional teaching with advanced learning technology. It will able to get high paying job through university careers service very quickly after graduating and the degree hold good value. Careers advisors were best and I took part in most of employability training and mentorship programs all year round.
During covid period the course was mostly online but quickly transitioned to on campus as I was able to get full experience of my university days. Professors were highly motivated and knowledgeable as most of them were industry professionals in energy industry. The course was very rigorous and I was able to apply business theories in practical applications at my work place.
The campus is easily accessible, and the Students Union is very helpful when it comes to student advice and information.
The Science Teaching Hub is an incredible facility to have access to, and we are able to have hands-on experience with what we are learning in lectures through our practicals.
Although you are living in close quarters with your flatmates, it creates a great social atmosphere, and is great for making friends.
The student support is wonderful. They always try their best to help students. However, life on campus is quite monotone. There is not enough and varied students' activities.
The content of the course is relevant and up to date. I like the fact that lectures are given online and tutorials and workshops on campus. However, the course material can become overwhelming that you don't really assimilate the content.
Well if you're excited for a finest career in UK, a Scottish biscuit, chilled weather and a great Ceilidh dance, then University of Aberdeen is the right place for you! University of Aberdeen is a great place to study. Being one of the oldest universities in the UK, it makes the campus very special. It's a good place to study as every student is preparing for the exams from time to time, building community with all ethnicities and trying to achieve the best opportunity by enhancing the expectations of being the best University in the world. There is lots to explore and every person that comes to this university will find a way to achieve professionalism. The style of teaching is great and practical which will enable you to keep improving everyday and to never miss session. It is my first time experiencing this kind of a weather in this beautiful place. Every morning it reminds you of your responsibilities that you're willing to take on a daily basis. That what makes it exciting and amicable. The student support is great as they'll guide you for what you're looking for. Whereas Student Union will look for students who are excited and willing to join various societies and clubs to build a family of UoA. Aberdeen University Student Association (AUSA) organises various events for get together. There are indoor and outdoor sport communities for students to join. Communities for arts, entertainment, religion and so on. You can visit any of these societies/clubs once you priorities your schedule well. It's truly fun. I've also visited the Careers Connect which is at the Student Union guides you to direct your passion towards what you want to achieve in your career life. They also do help you with interview skills and promote students in attending UK job fairs of organizations and banks. Sir Duncan Rice Library was inaugurated by Queen Elizabeth is the best library in the Scotland. You can study well and enjoy the beautiful view of Aberdeen from all the floors at the library. Campus tour and induction is the right place to start as you meet new people from different study backgrounds, nations and so on. Not to mention the food court at student union, Sir Duncan Rice library, craft bakers and hot chocolate in it's vicinity. You can grab a snack/food anywhere in the campus especially when you're in a hurry for any class. As it's just been my first month and I have experienced all of these moments as described above. Well University of Aberdeen is full of possibilities. Hope this helps you decide your next move in life. Good luck :)
Join University of Aberdeen to more about this course. You'll definitely find your way. I have not yet completed a month at University of Aberdeen. However, given the timetable and resources associated with it, I am finding the course to be a great opportunity to build myself as a professional. Best aspect is you have to be accountable for the studies you do regularly by attending lectures, etc. without any thought of procrastinating time and resources. No such worst aspect of this course.
Actually there are a lot of aspects about my university i love.Mostly i want to talk about the library we have in our university “Duncan Rice Library”.The best library experience i’ve felt in my entire life.I’ve been to so many libraries during my academic career but this is the best.Book borrowing system, cataloging and movement systems inside the library is world class. The worst experience i can say there are not enough shops for buying study materials inside the campus.I’ve been to one of them.I think more shops for stationary inside the campus can be a real help.
My course is blended.Course hour is quite compact and curriculum is outstandingly understandable.Lecturers are super contacting. They are happily demonstrating any questions of any student wherever and whenever a question is risen by a student in both physical class and online also. The worst aspect of my course is it’s quite broad for single stream students who doesn’t have enough knowledge of basic & intermediate level maths and equations.
The university is very welcoming and diverse.
Lectures are held in person but consistently uploaded online. As an individual with ADHD, I find this practice to be extremely useful.
- The location is in a pretty area, right alongside Seaton Park. However, unfortunately, this area is also notoriously dangerous. - The area is a 15 - 20 minute walk from campus, but a far walk from town. However, the strong bus services make up for this. - Facilities within our flat have consistently been prone to breaking. Luckily, accommodation help team have been quick to replace and fix items and facilities. - The community and atmosphere is welcoming.
The university is great, It has an old feel of both ancient and modern technology which is amazing. The lecturers are great too but looks like they have been striking due to cut prices though they do it without interrupting classes and that wouldn't look good for the university in terms of publicity. Heaters could be regulated too as some times it gets cold.
There is a need for career prospects, internships, and work placements. The lecturers do their best but they can assist some of the students that don't come from the same privileges and are trying to learn the study culture.
Best: the facilities like new lab Worst: lack of communication between students
worst is that some lecturers expect us to know how to do something even if we never done it
When you are able to be on campus and have learning that is both partially directed and independent has been a great experience. The times when you are isolated and when you are unable to access facilities can be very tough.
Time on placement has been the most memorable and enjoyable during my time at university. It has been such a privilege to study what i am doing and have people that so willingly contribute to me teaching and allow me access to their lives
The connections you make are amazing, and everyone is keen to help one another. My classmates will become lifelong friends and the supervisors/professors are great mentors!
