I just started my studies at Northumbria University on September this year and by the looks of it, it seems to be going great with a brand new look at everything. This includes being in a huge university, which I was shocked on the first day here. I pretty much got lost on the way to each class. The lecture rooms are cozy and big. While the lectures here are quite friendly and surprisingly approachable and the fact that I am surprised the most is that we are assigned a personal tutor. This is great as if I have an problem of any sort there is a person I can readily talk to. Northumbria has many softwares which I can use for free and work with. The event, freebies are quite the exciting part. The library is spacious enough and quiet, not only the library but all of the buildings we can use free lecture hall to study freely. I love every fact about it till date and is excited for what the university holds for us in the upcoming years.
All the lecture are 1 to 1 which is way better than online as for me. And it has a lot of self study also so that I could know deeply about the subject to depths I desire. More activity based learning would be a help sp that practically it sticks in the brain.
Provides everything you need, issues are sorted out quickly and incredible support from staff
The course is engaging and the lecturers make the boring parts of the course bearable
Its great. Everything is perfect
Its great. Perfect
Great area, great staff
worst aspects I would say is how quickly money can be spent here especially if you don't have a job, the best aspects is definitely the social lifestyle and how many friends you can make.
some modules can be quite boring is the worst aspect and the best id probably say the mixture of different things you can do on your second year and also the many different things they teach
the most is probably how sociable it is and just generally living by myself, worst is maybe dirty flatmates, I haven't experienced this myself but I do know people who do have flatmates that domino clean up.
My experience at Northumbria University has been overwhelmingly positive. The support and assistance from staff members have been outstanding. I particularly appreciate the 24/7 access to the library, which is an ideal place for studying and academic work. The university's facilities are top-notch, making it an excellent place to study. However, one aspect of my personal experience has been different from my home country. It's the practice of smoking within university premises. I come from a place where smoking and drinking inside university premises are strictly prohibited, so encountering people smoking on campus was new for me. I personally dislike smoking in public spaces, as it affects the ability to enjoy fresh air, especially within the university environment. I've heard that the effects of smoking go beyond just the immediate vicinity, impacting others who breathe in the smoke. As an international student, this was somewhat challenging for me. I believe that implementing restrictions on smoking within the university premises or providing designated smoking areas could address this issue and ensure that it doesn't negatively impact other students.
So far, my experience with the course has been positive. The lecturers are exceptionally helpful and responsive to our questions. However, I believe that incorporating field visits to industries could enhance our understanding of the module by providing more practical insights and knowledge.
the facilities at my university are great and there is so much support on offer for so many different issues that students might be having. many of these support services are available 24/7 which is a huge help. the university could be improved by improving the wifi. sometimes students struggle to access the wifi even from inside the library and it sometimes make studying difficult. my university experience has also been hugely impacted by strike actions, and I think at times my teaching and support with assignments have suffered as a result
my first year almost all of my classes were taught online, which made it very difficult to make friends on the course. for my second and third years teaching has been on campus, but all of our lectures are recorded and uploaded online so we can go back and re-watch them, which has been incredibly useful. we've had chances to complete group work as well as assignments which help us to develop independently.
the location of the accommodation was great with a range of shops just a few minutes away. the property was very secure and you needed to have a key card to enter the site. it was quite expensive but I felt it was worth it, each room had an ensuite and a double bed and the facilities on site were quite good. the worst thing about this accommodation was the way it was managed and the staff. I often had parcels go missing from the reception, and members of staff and security would let themselves into our flat at all times of day with no warning and without knocking. we often had to wait a long time for maintenance work to be completed and we were blamed for damage to the flat which was present when we moved in.
Firstly i would like to thank for giving me this opportunity, as a international student i was having a great time in the university with lot of facilities. The staff were friendly and supportive regarding academics. Every week their will be activities going in the student's union which encourages us to participate. The class rooms was well equipped with good interiors and pleasant to hear the lecture.
At present the classes are going in the class and it is taught were well by the lectures. If their is any issues with the subject the tutors are ready to provide possible solution for that and having friendly atmosphere in the class.

The teaching methods, course hours, and contact with lecturers can vary widely based on the specific program and course at the university. For accurate and up-to-date information, it is recommended that you consult the university's official website, course descriptions, and possibly reach out to the university's faculty or academic advisors for specific details about your chosen program.
it’s a brilliant city to live and study in. the facilities are really good and the lecturers are so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their subject areas
the lecturers are so knowledgeable and the content is engaging and informative, some of the assessments are also very useful in applying knowledge to case contexts
i hated living in halls however it was a great location and i met so many nice people
The best thing abut the university is the support they offer for the students. The relationship between the lecturers and the students could be improved.
Hard to understand academically what is expected from the students. As an international student, the educational system here is different and the lecturers assume that we are familiar with the system. So a induction on how the studies are conducted here and what is expected from the student during the course would be good.
