Great Lecturer support. good Library. Distance between venues can cause problems for disabled students. No Bar at Union and no collective events for all other than freshers week.
Content, knowledge of lecturers and access to computers excellent. Taught face to face and staff always available via email. As a mature student some it issues but plenty of training and support.
transport links good. good range of retail outlets and regular social events. Historical dockyard and 2mile walking promenade good for relaxing. summer months get a bit crowded with visitors but extra facilities thenavailable. Good museums, library and public parks. Main shopping area usual rubbish but Southsea has good bookshops, eateries and pier.
Technicians are very helpful and supportive however teachers strikes affected my studies and didnt get enough help from the lectures
Not enough feedback from the lecturers
The students are followed and supported, everyone is nice and encouraging, the facilities are in great condition. it is a very nice university
it is very different than in france but it is nice to discover other ways of teaching
the door from our flat don’t lock and neither does the door from our block but it’s nice and tidy:
Love the atmosphere, the lecturers, coursemate and the fun assessments we do, especially in the Forensic semester. I also enjoyed the day trips the university plans and can't wait to go to Oxford in December 😁😁😁
I love the modules we do and how understanding the lecturers are. Assessment are also interesting and feels life-like
the tutors are very helpful but with such a huge institution and thousands of students its easy to feel forgotten and unappreciated. rather than the student reaching out to the tutors there should be a meeting at the beginning to meet the tutor
lectures can be boring as the professor are reading off a slide show. more engagement would make them far more interesting
its very close to everything but very dated. the room was not clean upon arrival nor was the kitchen. the bright purple walls are really ugly, the wifi only works in certain areas, and it feels like your paying a lot for a single bed and a mini fridge
The best aspect of my university experience was that new courses were introduced to me that I liked, and my lecturers were amazing. Also, I got to make new friends that I called family; we learn together and sometimes hang out for fun. The worst aspect was when writing my dissertation, but in the end it was worthy because I had the best supervisor and also during the winter season.
The best aspect of my course is that I got to have more knowledge on forensics, which I liked best of all the courses I was taught, which even drew me to write my dissertation on forensics. The worst aspect is that during our exams, you need to sit down for about 8 hours to write your exams. That's stressful for me.
What I liked most about the university hall was the security, but what I liked least about the hall was that their lift was always broken, which makes it stressful when you're on the fifth floor.
I love this University, the staff in this University are very supportive.
Good experience.
I like that Rees Hall is providing food which is very necessary for students who do not know how to cook.
For worst, i have to say that the administration for modules and such is pretty slow and i had to do a crazy amount of paperwork to fix all of the mistakes made For best, i feel like the career support in this university is very good
Compared to back in Spain, i feel like the level is very low. I do have to say that the teachers are way nicer here tho
Very expensive but very well kept
.
the main building for marine biology its outside of the main campus, and is it not very well connected you need your own car or paying for transport to go over for lectures.
too expensive for what it actually is. not enough common areas.
The course (illustration) definitely suits me and I love it. Additionally, the area around and between the university has everything you need, grocery stores, clothing stores and clubs are not too far either. Its not the prettiest city in England for sure, but I came here to study do that's not a huge factor
The Art building has many things to do, including a Printmaking room, 3D printers, laser cutters, studio space, and a café. The course is great too, obviously, I don't enjoy every workshop, but I always learn something from them. As I'm doing a creative course, it's hard to be inspired every single day, but I find I'm getting better with practice
I am fortunate enough to have my own studio on the top floor, so I have a nice view and can control the level of cleanliness independently. From here I am within walking distance of student essentials, groceries, clothing, books, cafes, and clubs.
