Our collection of real, honest student reviews of unis and courses is the largest in the UK, and help you make well-informed decisions about your future. Student reviews also form the basis of our annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards(WUSCAs), which highlight great work carried out by institutions for their students.

This is a sub-par university. I studied at the University of Kent between 2021 and 2023 and graduated with a distinction but I leave dissatisfied with the experience. While initially there is a great deal of excitement and communication from the university, this rapidly ends once lectures commence. This may be because payments have been received, it does feel as though the university experience deteriorates after this initial period (though there may be other reasons I am not aware of). Communication then becomes sparse and and the course disorganised. Where the university really falls down is in planning and organisation. Frequent time table clashes occurred. Last minute changes to venues leaving students missing out on classes. Lectures booked at opposite ends of the campus meaning missing large chunks of the sessions. Lectures staring late and finishing early. Access to course module handbooks delayed. Exam and assignment results frequently released late yet there is no communication from the university to keep students informed and no apology. Further issues occur with technological failures when lecturers have been unable to communicate effectively due to problems with sound equipment. It is at these points when the university appears farcical - the idea that you can attend a course but not hear what is being said and pay for the experience - left students either laughing in disbelief or like me dejected and disheartened. When these matters are escalated there is little interest from the university which is unacceptable given the sums paid to access higher education. The general attitude seems to be one of disinterest and that the university is doing you a favour by allowing you to study. The university seems at odds with its own mission statement of standing for ambition. I saw no evidence of drive to improve. It is perfunctory and comfortable in it's mediocrity. It does have some very positive aspects, the grounds for example are lovely, it is housed in an old naval dockyard. The facilities are decent though not excellent. The canteen is nice, the food is ok, the seminar rooms comfortable, the digital platforms adequate. The university would have received a three start review, which is probably just about fitting, however, as and 10 colleagues and I are unable to attend the graduation ceremony, a once in a lifetime experience, due to a lack of capacity, two stars have been awarded. There is no pragmatic approach to resolving this last issue eg adding an extra row of chairs, considering standing room or planning for a more appropriate venue which could accommodate the graduates. Instead concreate and unhelpful thinking is applied which cements the university in its position - rigid, unhelpful and sub-par. I would not recommend studying here - I am certain you'll find a better experience elsewhere.
The course contains an interesting mix of health based management and general management. I have gained some new knowledge and skills as a result of studying. At times the course feels superficial, lecturers disinterested and delivery poor. It feels as though there is ore emphasis on getting as many students to pass rather than focusing on quality and in my view the marking is fairly lax.
I really enjoy the course I am but could be improved with better student support for internships
I think the course is interesting and useful for after university. However I do feel the way that it’s taught can be quite difficult to understand some topics and I feel there isn’t enough contact hours
The university hall is quite far out of the way from facilities compared to other halls making it hard to really socialize and there is no communal area which also means that you don’t need to be around people much of the time
I am really fond of Kent University! The fact it is a campus university really appeals to me and the business school facilities are amazing! Nice modern buildings and lots of experiences outside of just study. As a student who transferred into second year after completing my first year at another university I am really pleased with my decision as I am much happier here and I feel as though the teaching quality is of a high standards!
The whole of my course has been in class which is what I wanted. The lectures are recorded so you’re able to rewatch or catch up if you can’t attend. The lecturers are very responsive and want you to succeed. The teaching quality is of a high standard.
Canterbury is improving for the activities and university lifestyle. With the Riverside development taking place more restaurants and night life is improving as a whole.
I think Keynes is a great location, however the value for money is fair. I think it is quite expensive for what you get. The bathrooms aren’t amazing as they’re wet rooms but it is halls and Turing is of a higher standard but very expensive. The kitchen I had only had one sink which wasn’t great considering there was 8 of us, there should be two sinks really.
The best aspects of my uni experience so far is the friends I’ve made along the way. I’ve only been here a month but still have managed to meet some amazing people who I know I will be friends with for years to come. I’ve had some really great times with these people; spending time together, having fun but not just that, I’ve also had some meaningful and deep conversations with them that have helped me understand myself better. The worst aspect that I have experienced so far was some issues with the flats kitchen sink. It’s broken twice in a month but luckily seems to have been fixed properly now, whilst it was broken (for the second time) we couldn’t wash up or eat properly but this issue has now been resolved thankfully.
The best parts of my course are that some of the teachers are very engaging with the students. They make relevant jokes and also provide support. The worst parts of my course, for me personally, is that I know a lot of the content already that’s being taught at the moment. However this isn’t a huge issue as it gives me a reminder.
I love the location of my uni because I think it’s in a truly beautiful city because Canterbury is a very lovely place. The only downside is you need to go into town in order to do a proper shop.
The best parts of where I live is the room is very homely to me as I’ve decorated and made it my own. My room also is an en-suite so has its own bathroom which i think was definitely a wise choice as it’s very nice having my own space to shower. The worst parts of where I live is that the room is quite cramped however this is to be expected.
some buildings can be refurbished allocating lecture theatres to different courses and classes can be improved, as there is a lot of people doing psychology, and we have been allocated to gulbekien cinema for some lectures, which there isn't enough seats for all of us.
enjoying my course and classes, helpful lecturers, who are willing to help
As I am not looking for part-time work, therefore the question above is inapplicable to me.
I think the student support is very impressive, with lots of services in place for those in need for mental health, physical, and educational support
We have a decent amount of in person teaching hours a week and I know I can drop in to my lectures drop in hours if I need extra support or have any questions. All lectures and drop ins are recorded and put online so I can refer back for revision or if I miss a lecture.
I think this is the best student accommodation on campus. It is cheaper than all flats but still have a large kitchen, double bed and only a bathroom shared with one other person who is the same gender as you. Cleaners come once a week and if there are any problems they are fixed very quickly

Lots on campus! Town is close, course is good. One of the best unis I looked at overall. Why I picked it :) Sports facilities are often overfilled and specific things like climbing walls, etc are missing. Sometimes difficult to follow everything that's on.
Course content is for those new to the subject. Frustrating for those already experienced.
Maintenence did not properly assess the hose before we moved in, so lots was broken. Area is humid. Otherwise OK.
Couldn’t have been at a better university. The perfect balance of sea, country and town living.
Great lectures with great knowledge of the industry.
Loved jr

Deadlines and work load can be problematic. However Support is great
