Bad parts are lit just whatever classes you don’t like or a little hassle to get the bus to the other campus sometimes. But I would never want to go to any other Uni, it’s incredible here really.
Teachers and subject leaders are all so helpful and caring also really try to make everything interactive and interesting. Depends of course what you study like I can only speak from my course but I do love it. They also respond to emails, even if it takes a week or two when it’s busy they do get back.
Halls are so good, really amazing to meet people. 100% first year a must and so handy to walk to everything and be involved on everything on campus. Met my best friends in my first year flat and most other people lived on campus in 1st year too.
It’s a very comfortable place to live and study, plenty of books and places to go for quiet, the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, there are many places to get food and drink in your breaks and it is an excellent place to go for a walk around the campus as the right amount of greenery that it give a natural feel and it’s almost the perfect place, but nothing is perfect
The best aspects of the course are the experiments that are conducted. The worst things that happen are the classes are too earlier on Mondays, contact with lectures has been flawless apart from 1-2 lectures
The halls are a bit expensive and because of that fact I am struggling to afford other necessities like food and toiletries as the cost of living has increased harshly over the last coming months
Its a great university. All the professors and staffs are very kind hearted and treats every single student with the same energy and passion. The university also provides a wide range of facilities for mental and physical health of the students. The always sets up parties in the university forum for the students to loosen up and cheer up the students. In overall its a fantastic university.
I am coming from India were even engineering is taught theoretically rather than practically. And for me that's a bad way of teaching. After coming to this university I have seen each and every course here has a different way of teaching and assessment. The way they approach and solve problems is a wonder to watch. Here they make students to solve problems own there own, which boosts their confidence. The way I see life is like a trial and error method, the more mistakes you make the more you know which leads to a better decision.
Hatfield is a great place to live. As an international student being close to London is a dream for everyone and London is only 15 minutes away from Hatfield through the train. But getting a part time job is hard. And especially now when the living cost is rising day by day, a person cannot survive that easily without a job. I am still trying to find a job so that I can manage my daily living expenses.
I have been living in the university accomodation for the past 6 months and I have never felt this safe ever before my life.

The University provides a scenic on campus accommodation, it has a central area where students can go for walks and I like how the accommodations are organized. The Learning Resources Center is located near the accommodations which makes it a lot easier for students who mostly stay on campus. Support and the Student Union can be easily found by the Forum where the main bus stop is so students have easy access to it as well as a Cafe, shops and bar all close together. Societies are one of the main extracurricular activities to look out for as it promotes togetherness and encourages people to join clubs, there is always something for every individual. The teachers in my course are absolutely lovely and they never hesitate to help students who may be struggling, they may also scout out those who are lagging behind and encourages for extra support sessions which are really helpful. What is most difficult to get used to is navigating around campus, if you were new it's very difficult to find the right building and room. The main campus is big and there are many buildings for different courses. Luckily there is an app that provides navigation around campus, but it can be tricky to use at first. Another problem are the busses, sometime they get canceled or are delayed and it can be frustrating if you're on your placement. The second campus provides a much more relaxed and quiet living if you're not a party person. The LRC is also close to the accommodations and shops are just across the street. There's also a gym with a swimming pool next to the Cafe area.
Adult nursing is a demanding course and it can take a lot of time, mental and physical fortitude. From my experience, the learning aspect is the best part, taking part in simulations, working with other students, taking part in projects can be fun. There are some modules that are not as easy to get a grasp on but the lecturers are all happy to help. On the other hand, nursing can also be taxing on you, with placement, waking up early, and working a couple days a week is exhausting. There are also times where you, as a student, can feel neglected as most of the time mentors are too busy. There is also the fact that you will be working with different types of patients and work with other professionals and family members which can be very overwhelming if you are a first year, but at the end of the day you get to experience and learn a lot of things. As I had started when the pandemic was at its peak, lessons were mostly taught online, and it didn't feel very interactive at all. But now that the majority is face to face, you can make easy connections with other students and within a few days you can make many friends within the course.
The main campus halls are expensive but you do get bigger rooms depending on which you're allocated to. Although when choosing a room, it is not always guaranteed and sometimes you may even be disappointed at what you get. The prices are a bit high on some, for example with my current room being a shared shower room, costing around 7k to 8k, sometimes the heaters would also shut down leaving you freezing at night. What I would recommend are the halls in Dehav where you get a small ensuite room with a mini fridge! If you're not bothered by the size of the room then it would be perfect, the price is also way cheaper than the ones on the main campus.
The University of Hertfordshire has not failed in making its environment conducive enough for young filmmakers like me, to be able to come out of a nutshell and a totally different background and still be able to adapt and excel. It’s Fully equipped and with the aid of the never resting lecturers, I have no issue but praises for the engagement and help I receive and a daily basis which is leading me on the path to success
The hours are perfect, enough time to be impacted by the lectures, i study a practical course so in class lectures are more effective for me Being able to go into class and have a direct sense of feel of their cameras is amazing
It’s a lovely accommodation Perfect condition A 100% suitable for stay Provides comfort and is very safe Safety comes before all It’s the best
The education system is very good in this university but don’t expect diversity.
The course is very good if you like to work on all fields in business.
There’s always triggering fire alarms by students unwontedly and specially at nights, you should wake up in the mid of the night or early mornings irrespective of weather conditions outside until the alarms are stopped from ringing. I honestly don’t recommend this student accommodation and also the lady in the reception in De Havilland is very rude to people.
The best part is my uni location and worst part is I am having issues with studies but they can't help me now.
My course is good but time is very less for this course, syllabus is very tough and marking pattern is also very tough. It is very easy for Professor to provide the notes but for student it is very hard to study all the things in limited time.
It is very easy for me to go uni, heating system, immediate response to any problem from staff, good kitchen. But i think it is too expensive.
The teaching quality is great however the university gym is charged for on both campuses.
Heavily subsidised pilots lessons were good. The course hours can be very long however. The university has no calculators yet approve few.
Value for money is quite low compared to the location of the uni and not any cctv in main corridors.
