Great campus and very friendly
Fantastic and engaging staff, always on hand when needed.
Such a pretty campus and city, the unis small so classes are small and the engagement with lecturers is reliable. Student support have been there anytime I need over the last 3 years, the facilities in campus and the accommodation is also good. If you are used to a big night life in a city, this might not be the place for you unless you would be happy to travel outside of Winchester but there is a nightclub and plenty of pubs across town.
Really good courses and enthusiastic lecturers, the tutor time is lacking but that's probably because I'm a third year and in reference to career prospects there are always talks or workshops for any year. Many of the content is uploaded online before or after your class so that you have access to it after you've been to the lecture or seminar.
Cleaners, housing staff, literally in campus, security, big rooms. Only issue for me was it was at the top of a hill!
Theres not alot if support for disabled students with non physical disabilities
My teachers cant deal with my tourettes
The building is falling apart, you wouldn't put prisoners in it, let alone students
The experience gained through my degree is invaluable the opportunity to work with 16 – 18-year-old athletes delivering workshops on sport psychology skills gave an insight to apply the knowledge learnt from the Psychological Skills module to talented athletes. The one-to-one attention provided by all lecturers is second to none, always willing to make time for the students and support you through not only your university life but also personal life. This support network was also further expanded across the year groups, created through the staff putting on socials (Summer sports games, Christmas meal and quiz, Pizza night) open for all year groups on the course to attend which has been a fantastic way to build relationships and share experiences with other students in the up-and-coming years. In addition, the lecturers are always keen to hear feedback from students to keep the course, modules, assessment types, tasks and opportunities provided etc up to date to cater for and meet all the needs of the students. I can’t fault the experience I received during my three years of study here at the University of Winchester and would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to study for a degree in Sport psychology.

The study areas on Campus are extremely varied and so suits everyone. The campus and city are gorgeous. The lecturers are passionate about their work and (on my course in particular) make an effort to engage with students and get feedback. Student support could be more present and easier to remain in communication with - I understand they’re busy however they are currently making promises they cannot fulfill.
I would love if we have more contact hours, however, I understand this isn’t possible with the amount of staff dedicated to this course.
Nice distance from the university campus. A five minute walk so you felt connected to university life but also had a degree of separation which is healthy in my opinion.
The place is nice and safe considering that it's almost exclusively dedicated to students, there is a lot going on each week and if you are part of a society and want to have fun it's the right place. The accomodation are nice although they do have problems (especially this year) but maintenance is very quick to solve the issues. I know that the disability team is not the best so that's something they should work but the career service works wonderfully, they are super helpful and nice and we also have graduate support in which you can meet with people working in your desirable field to help you out with finding a job. Definitely needs some work for the student shops on campus because they are very expensive, on the flip side, 30 minutes of walk in a beautiful scenery are not too bad (not thanks to the uni, just luck). Winchester it self is very pretty and would recommend. Good are also all the networking possibilities that we get, I got so many advice and connected with many professional that helped me find a job for when I finish very quickly, it also helps that all our lecturers are professionals in their field (forensics) and therefore they can talk about their experience and how to make it into this world.
The course it self it's fun, the idea behind it is unique but being a fairly new course it still needs many adjustments. A placement from the university wouldn't be bad for example (we have to find the placement ourselves) but it doesn't affect the course too much. All the lectures are recorded making it easy to access at a later date, the lecturer are nice and professionals in their field. However some of them tend to read from the slides a bit too much. The content themselves are interesting especially the practical aspect of it, we get to do investigations and use professional softwares.
It's expensive, but it's the cheapest here. Sadly Winchester is an expensive town so you can get what you can, if you are able to live at your parents that's probably better, however everything is included in the bill and you get a discount if you pay everything together. Moreover it doesn't metter how much water you use since it's already payed. You get a cleaner, the kitchens (depending on the house) are big and spacious, usually it's easy to settle in. This year there has been problem with the water but it's in all Winchester but they managed to solve it fairly quickly. There are lots of cats and squirrels around which is a plus. The beds are okay and there is a lot of space for decorations and anything you want
Winchester is a lovely small university which means you get to know everyone really quickly which is nice. There’s loads of good societies to join both sporty and social and the SU puts on loads of good events. The location is good too as it’s a 10 minute walk from town and 15 minute walk to the train station.
In Primary Ed you usually get around 15-20 contact hours a week. The classes are always very varied and practical which keeps it exciting. You get linked up with a personal tutor which is good because you can always go to them for advice or support.
Winchester is a lovely city and very scenic for walks, although very expensive. If you want to shop it’s best to get the train to Southampton but it’s not far.
Burma Road is a modern accommodation block with all en suites and decent sized kitchens. It’s right on campus so it’s only a 1 minute walk for me to get to my seminars. It’s the most expensive on campus and you don’t always get your first choice of accommodation so be prepared to pay £150 per week if you come to Winchester.
A nice feel on campus with good food options
A great course with knowledgeable tutors
A smaller city but a good feel
Such a lovely university.
Such great help on the course :).
lovely city
