What's to love about ARU Cambridge location: Academic Reputation: Cambridge is renowned for its academic excellence and historical significance. Being located in this city offers students a rich intellectual and cultural environment, with access to renowned research institutions, libraries, and academic resources. Student Life: Cambridge is a vibrant and lively city, offering a bustling student scene. There are numerous clubs, societies, and events tailored to student interests, providing ample opportunities for socializing, networking, and personal development. Cultural and Historical Heritage: The city of Cambridge is steeped in history, featuring stunning architecture, iconic landmarks like the University of Cambridge, and world-class museums. Students can immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage and explore the charming streets, green spaces, and scenic river walks. Employment Opportunities: Cambridge is known as a hub for technological innovation and research. It hosts a thriving science and technology cluster, commonly referred to as the "Silicon Fen." This concentration of innovative companies and startups provides students with potential employment opportunities, internships, and collaborations. Accessible Location: Located in eastern England, Cambridge benefits from good transport links. It is approximately an hour's train ride away from London, making it accessible for day trips or weekend getaways. The city is also well-connected by road and has an international airport nearby. Aspects that may not be so great: Cost of Living: Like many university cities in the UK, the cost of living in Cambridge can be relatively high. Accommodation, particularly in the city center, can be expensive. It's important for students to consider their budget and explore affordable housing options. Competitive Environment: Cambridge is home to one of the world's top universities, which can create a competitive atmosphere. While this can be motivating for some students, it may also be challenging for others who may feel the pressure to perform exceptionally well academically. Crowded during Tourist Season: Cambridge attracts a significant number of tourists, especially during the summer months. This influx of visitors can lead to crowded streets, particularly in popular areas like the city center and major attractions. It's worth noting that this may impact the overall experience and convenience for students.
The best aspects of my university experience were the opportunities for personal and intellectual growth, engaging discussions with professors and peers, and the sense of community fostered on campus. However, the worst aspects included the stress of exams and assignments, occasional lack of support from certain faculty members, and the high cost of education.
My course offers comprehensive knowledge, practical skills and excellent network opportunities, preparing me for a successful career And the worst aspect of it is that the workload can be overwhelming at times, leaving little room for personal interest activities
ARU is a great place to study, it has great facilities and the lecturers are amazing, they are all friendly and they ensure their students are comfortable in the class, The students union offers warmth and soft cushion and opportunity to meet with other students outside your classroom, There's also presence of the sports team, but there's no sport ground in the school. That's just the only thing I don't like.
Well, studying computer science with Foundation year is quite uninteresting in the 1st Trimster as all you have to do is little Maths and ICT and more of courses to prepare you for the future, you might find this boring, but it helps you to have an idea of your future courses, in the second Trimester, you begin courses that are related to your field and a little bit advanced but it's nothing you can't handle if you put in your best. Also you have your online library to help you, and also the courses are available on either moodle or e vision, just in case you feel you're not understanding what you're being taught you can use the study skills plus, which gives you access to meet a tutor face to face. Also you can access the library 24/7
I am only at the university once every two weeks- I am based in Chelmsford. But, I think it is an amazing environment. Lots of green, a good city to be in. There’s even a police station nearby in case a crime happens. The lecturers are rather helpful too and I think the university would be a safe campus for people to go to.
I am studying a masters. So, I would say the university course is very flexible as it is taught blended, where if people cannot make it in person to lectures, they can access it online. I would say the course itself is interesting, as we got to do group work along with learning new information. The lecturers seem to do a good job providing the PowerPoints before the lectures so that we can prepare before them. Plus every time we have lectures, they go over the assignment at the beginning.
Best Aspect - The location of the Universis Very good and easily accessible to many students. They arrange Guest Lectures from real background which is good motivation for the international students. The reputation is also one of the advantage for international students. It helps us to prepare for real working life and it has linguistic diversity. Worst Aspect is - The whole system is kind of dis organised. Most of the students don't even know what is happening in another part of the university. They should focus more on developing new partnership and collaboration with companies and other institution, business in order to achieve it's mission
