Bedfordshire’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) building, based at the Luton campus, opened in September 2019. The building, set over four storeys, is home to a wide range of new science courses. It contains specialised biotech equipment that is the standard for the lab-based industry. The Luton campus also features a purpose built, seven storey library, as well as the Campus Centre, which houses all student services under one roof and includes a 240 seat lecture theatre. Other facilities at Luton include revolutionary Business Pods and a Law Moot Court, and a specialised art and design building, Alexon House.
The Bedford campus benefits from Gateway, a purpose built three-storey building featuring everything a student could need under one roof. There is also a physical education and sports science centre, which was used to train athletes in the 2012 Olympics. The university offers up-to-date sports analysis equipment such as the Catapul GPS system, while its labs include an environmental chamber, nutrition research kitchen, molecular and cellular labs. The Bedford campus also features mock classrooms that allow for the application of theory in a practical setting, including includes CCTV so students can watch and self-assess their lessons.
