The winners of the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2023 have been announced! Each year, over 35,000 reviews are submitted for universities across the UK by real students, and these reviews for the basis of the awards – letting the students have their say and celebrating the great work that unis do.

This year, the winner for the Whatuni Student Choice Awards student life category was Aberystwyth University

“I completed my undergraduate psychology degree in Aberystwyth as well. It truly is the most beautiful place to study. There are constant views of the sea, lots of trees and it's also impossible to get lost. It's often referred to as the "Aberystwyth bubble" - everyone knows each other and it truly is a sense of community. The town itself is full of great local restaurants plus its quite cheap.“ – Student review on Whatuni

What to look for in student life at university

Student life can seem like a wide and fairly vague topic, but once you step inside a uni, it all clicks. It encompasses the extracurricular activities available on and off-campus, social events, sports and even friendships made at an institution. It can be tempting to simply look at what a uni can offer in terms of academic benefits, but we highly recommend taking student life into account when searching for somewhere to study.
