I just got here a month ago and I already feel very included. The university puts in a lot of effort to ensure the students have a good experience. Very relaxed work environment. Loving the extra-curricular.
I dont have any coursework but I have great PhD supervisors.
Great location for me personally, as I came from a rural Norfolk area while I would say for some its small town would be an aspect to not like. The well-being team are extremely professional and go above and beyond to help! Love studying at lboro!
More one to one help with prospects and placement opportunities would be helpful. Many workshops clash with other commitments I have. Fantastic lecturers
Can be pick or mix depending on the issues with rooms but they are quickly resolved
There is a lot of different opportunities to get involved in, from sports teams to societies and building career skills. There is also good support from lecturers when asking questions. It could be improved by reducing the number of cars covering the paths on campus.
The best part of the course is getting to always be in a lecture hall in-person allowing for better interaction with the lecturer. The worst part is the low contact time.
The en-suites are very nice and there is a proper shower, not a wet room. The ovens heat up pretty fast and the fridge/freezers get quite cold. Small issues are the drains do block quite easily and can hear people in the corridors quite loudly
Good
Good
Need my shower and radiator
It's a great campus. It is big so take around 15 minutes to get from one end to the other but there is a lot of stuff going on all the time here. Good variety in accommodation with lots of options for 2nd year onwards. The biggest downside to Loughborough is it's quite far from any shops and the town centre. There is a bus and the walk is nice but sometimes you want a Tesco wich is right outside campus. Apart from that it's a lively uni and I'm happy here
Course has been great so far. There is a lot of contact time for mechanical in first year so lots of 9am lectures but most lecturers are helpful and explain things okay. The workshop is well equipped and the freedom to use facilities is great
The actual town of Loughborough isn't too good and there isn't too much to do it's mostly just the campus however there are some bars and clubs and a couple of shops. There is a station that goes to London and there's easy access to Leicester and Nottingham
It is quite expensive however it is very modern it's got a very nice feel to it. The soundproofing in the rooms is amazing so normal level music is not even a problem
Student life - Good Students' Union, poor nightlife in town, easy to get to Nottingham Campus - Really nice campus, good range of accommodation options, amazing sport ls facilities Location - Trains often require connections, Loughborough town severely lacking amenities
Great facilities, hugely varied quality of teaching from good to terrible, content is varied
Stayed in Claudia Parsons, very expensive but fantastic room and location
The campus is amazing, it’s very nice to just walk about and there’s many spots to sit down and study, chat or grab some food. The sports facilities span the whole campus, and they are all amazing. There are very good gyms either side of campus so you’ll never have to walk more than 10 minutes for a work out. The only problems with the gyms is that they are relatively expensive compared to other universities and they are often very busy. There’s loads of opportunities to get involved with sports from competitive au to not so competitive ims and not at all competitive lifestyle sports, so there will something for everyone. There is lots of readily available support for students who are struggling with anything ranging from general financial problems to struggling to understand certain modules on your course. There is a good balance between the amount of lectures and the amount of tutorials or seminars which has allowed me to really grasp my topics. There is a lot of extra reading if you’re not used to doing this however this should be expected for most universities and most courses really. The location is good with loughborough being a relatively quiet town (busy on the market day) and there’s a good range of supermarkets within walking distance. The nightlife in the town is questionable with some nights clubs being packed and others them being completely empty. The students union however is close to home and guaranteed to be packed. Theres two floors so a good range of music is played and everyone can enjoy themselves. Drinks are standard prices. The accommodation is amazing in places and not so good in others. It depends how much your paying really. The hall committee always put on great events though whichever halls your in which gives a nice tight knit community feel. The catered food is really good for if you’re not that great of a cook, and is definitely worth it in my opinion considering you don’t have to buy food or cook it or make the trek to the shops. Other students are really welcoming and nice, it should be easy to make plenty of friends. I really do love this uni and i’m glad i picked it, i’m sure you would be too!

Very nice
It's demanding but you learn another very quickly
It's a decent hall which is good for its price, close to the town, but very far from the inside of the university
Amazing
:)
Loughborough university is a 500+ acre campus with unimaginable sporting and general facilities. The university is ranked #1 in the world for sport related subjects but is also a great destination for other courses and subjects. I love that it is in a small town and not in a busy city. The city centre still has you covered when you want some population and things to do. I guess the only let down is there being no free gym for the university students.
The professors are world renowned in the field and have plenty of practical examples and expertise. The non existent placement and the lack of job opportunities with my course is what I would rate it low for.
