Loughborough has 16 undergraduate halls of residence to choose from, all situated on or very close to campus. A brand-new Hall of Residence (Claudia Parsons) opened in 2019 and is located at the heart of campus, in close proximity to the Students’ Union and sporting facilities. Designed to provide outstanding recreation and fitness opportunities, students benefit from living in an environment where they can study and relax in spaces specifically designed to support learning, health and wellbeing.
In total there are 7 catered halls and 9 self-catered halls, with a variety of shared/en-suite options to suit all budgets.
Loughborough were ranked 1st for accommodation by student reviewers in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2019, who told us they find the housing spacious, homely and value for money.

It's a shared room but besides that it is very home like and I love staying on campus seeing that everything is close-by and the kitchen is literally opposite my room so it's very convenient when I need to make food. Apart from this, I love living in my accommodation and getting my studies done and it is very relaxing and has a calm environment which I love most about it.
My accommodation is class. Great flat, great people. The atmosphere around is so chilled. Quiet at night but also lots of chance to party and socialise. Easy access to the rest of the campus but slightly out the way. Falk Egg is the best halls in the country is true.
Loughborough is home to the country’s largest concentration of world-class sports training facilities including an indoor athletics centre and outdoor stadium, a football stadium, sports hall, grass and artificial pitches, a 50 metre swimming pool, tennis, badminton and netball courts plus a state-of-the-art fitness centre.
Loughborough University opened STEMLab in Autumn 2017; a £17 million investment into state-of-the-art learning facilities for students covering Science and Engineering disciplines. The lab offers a ‘drop-in’ engineering workshop and a range of modern laboratories and teaching spaces. These enhanced facilities benefit current students and broaden the skills that future STEM graduates supply to the industry.
There are also a variety of open-access computer labs across campus, plus a four-story library that offers a huge variety of books, journals and work stations to suit a variety of study types.

Loughborough offers a variety of different support services to students, including: mental health support, disability support, student advice and support, counselling, English language support, wellbeing advice, hall wardens and 24/7 campus security, and a university chaplaincy.

Really really good. I once mentioned to my tutor that I was struggling for money and they pointed me in the direction of student service. They were kind and patient and helped me get the support I needed.
The University makes great provisions in providing support. In terms of academics, lecturers and tutors make themselves approachable, offering their assistance and giving you guidance. They also provide adequate feedback on coursework and exams. Meanwhile, with personal support services, the University is great reminding you of the services available and how to access them.

There are more than 170 clubs and societies for students to get involved in, ranging from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for charity to fancy dress nights out. Impressively, Loughborough Students’ Rag raises over £1 million for local and national charities every year. The SU have their own building containing a coffee bar, shop, Chinese restaurant, hairdressers, pharmacy and many other services. At night, the building becomes a nightclub with capacity for 4,000. Loughborough ranks 2nd for Students’ Union in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2019.

The Students' Union is a great place to hang out and study during the day, with a number of different cafes there is something for everyone. The nights out are good, and it is clear they have the students' best interest at heart.

Situated in the county of Leicestershire, Loughborough is a small market town that offers a range of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. The railway station can be reached in 15 minutes via the campus shuttle bus, while East Midlands airport is also only a 15-minute drive away. The larger cities of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby are close by, whilst tourist attractions like the Peak District and Sherwood Forest are also local to Loughborough.
Everything students’ need can be found on campus, but Loughborough town is also within walking distance and is home to a variety of additional shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants, as well as two cinemas and an escape room.

The city life might seem quiet but when you know the best places to go there is a lot to do! The clubs in town are good and always have a number of different events on which provides variety to the Students' Union. Loughborough has a number of local cafes/restaurants which serve great food and there is plenty of choice!
Loughborough is a small town, mainly built upon university students. It doesn't have the best 'city life', but it has everything a student needs within walking distance - there are even some good bars/clubs which are good for different days of the week! If city life is important however, Nottingham and Leicester are only around 20 minutes away on the train!
The city life is good, it is mainly made up of students due to the location but that's why it makes it that little bit better. The bars are secluded but open at the same time.
Every undergraduate course at Loughborough offers the option to incorporate a placement year into the degree, giving students the chance to maximise employability skills and make valuable contacts, something which several reviews praised.
There are also opportunities to gain additional work experience during your studies via the University’s Careers Network. They provide advice on CVs and interviews as well as organising careers fairs, work placements and employer-led events. 94% of Loughborough students are in work or further study six months after graduating (DLHE 2016/17). Loughborough is also home to the UK’s largest annual graduate careers fair, with more than 260 exhibitors in attendance and offering opportunities for students.

You'll be shocked by the number of clubs and societies on offer at Loughborough University. There's something for everyone! As well as being able to pick different clubs and societies, most courses let you choose modules at different points through your degree.
As well as personalising your course through optional modules, you may have the chance to do a work placement during your studies. Developing your professional skills through work placements is a great way to add to your CV and boost your employability.
If you want a job you love (and who doesn't?), getting a job in a field you're passionate about is a great place to start. By studying a subject you really enjoy, you'll be qualified for a range of jobs relating to that subject, which you'll hopefully love.
For those who aren't ready to give up on education after an undergraduate degree, you'll have the opportunity to progress to postgraduate study such as a master's or even a PhD.
