“Uni gym: Amazing, state of the art gym with new and well-kept equipment. Uni library: Very modern and accessible area, with 6 different floors. Invited you to study there rather than feeling like you have to study there. Lecture halls: All lecture halls I have been in have been bright, spacious halls that accommodate for a lot of people. Labs: The labs are very good, with access to a lot of different facilities and equipment. I feel sorry for people not doing a science-based course as they don’t get to use them.”

Students will find that Newcastle is a city enamoured with sport, and in particular football – St James’ Park, home of Newcastle United, is famously right at the centre of the city and can be seen (and heard) from most streets. The city also has Kingston Park, home of the Falcons rugby union team, and the Newcastle Eagles basketball team play at the Community Arena.
The city is served by a Metro train, which also visits the coast – South Shields, Whitley Bay and Tynemouth have a host of seaside attractions. Further north, students can enjoy rambling walks through Northumberland, while Hadrian’s Wall is easily reached.
