Our collection of real, honest student reviews of unis and courses is the largest in the UK, and help you make well-informed decisions about your future. I hope its just my course but its so poorly run and managed it's disgusting. I'm being sponsored by my employer and going through credit control to get that sorted has been a breeze in comparison to ensuring I've been listed on the correct modules or where to go. It's like they haven't given any thought to the course until its start day then panic book any rooms they can and inform students after. Had a similar issue all of last year which resulted in the course leader leaving and multiple teams meetings with everyone in the department and students to try resolve where they essentially tried to blame us for their poor performance and second year is looking to be a repeat.
Only one of the lecturers has appeared passionate about their subject and had great content to match, everyone else just seems to wing it or put on some basic YouTube videos. Not worth the cost of course.
Is a nice uni.
The accounting course contains a pointless amount of management accounting to the point it just feels like filler and a waste of time as well. This means it’s a bit of a waste of money as 5/6 of the total 24 models are management accounting the last 2 management accounting modules I have done have felt pointless. Teach more about tax.
Not bad
The teaching team are fantastic - really engaging and supportive! The course is a perfect hybrid of home and on campus. And for me personally, the location of the Frenchay campus is really practical.

Dormitories to be watched
Integrated yet useful
Best ones but needed to be watched and cared daily
The faculty is a widely experienced & industry oriented one. The facilities provided by the university are top notch including the labs, sports building & most importantly students union. Students Union at the university is one of its kind & has been the major takeaway for students which arranged various events and activities for students. Strath sports building is one of the finest facilities around universities in Scotland. University also provides number of scholarships to students to support financially & support their mental wellbeing as well. The location of the university is right in city centre offering easy commute, accessibility & travel options around the city & outside. The one thing University can improve on is reducing course fees for some courses for international students & offering scholarships of higher values since cost of living has turned out to be more in Glasgow due to house of living crises.

The university is doing it's best for students. The positive about the University is it's location and public transportation are good. 24 hours library access great support for students. National express bus stops at University it is beneficial for students mainly to international students. The negatives about the university. 1. There is no university bus provided to the students like UOB, university of Bristol. 2. The student support services waiting time for students assistance have long waiting time. 3. The black board have bugs in the app. Does not reflects correct information like assignment/assessment dates. 4. Online lectures on black board are recorded for the students to rewatch or follow the missing lectures. 5. The internship or placements support are supported to the students with one year Msc during the off study time.
In some modules does not provide lecture records. Just incase if the student misses his/her class failed to attend it. For the business Management students , the strength of the course is high. As it is converted into batches. Sometimes it hard for the fellow students to see on different timetable allotments. Hard to follow up with fellow students in the busy work/ study life.
The university is big and nothing comment on it infrastructure and location.
The staffs from professors to student advisors, everyone is supportive and help you along the way. Even the facilities but I would say improving the infrastructure is crucial. I would also wish the computer facilities with engineering software would be available 24/7. I also think the transportation facility can be improved.
The lectures are good and the lecturers explain things well. However I wish there would be more interactive sessions with lecturers and opportunity to involve in researching a topic. I would say internships opportunities are not very great for international students. I feel like they are very generic instead of helping individual cases. Also, partial scholarships/ financial rewards are not available for internal students.
I am doing a blended programme with the majority online and some in person workshops. This makes the course very flexible and easy to work around my job while still being able to study. This is also a drawback in that sometimes I miss the interaction and community of studying with others. This may just be a necessary trade off. I enjoy coming onto campus when I do and make use of the library services too. I find the online tools and services very usable and accessible.
the course content is really good and interesting, it's also very applicable to real world settings.
from my point of view as an international student University provides the great facilities about like IT, health, fitness or sporting goal, the facilities and expertise to help me succeed from fitness suits to industry leading. There is always space to think, learn and collaborate at UWE Bristol with modern, well equipped workstations, study spaces and learning zones across another three campuses. There is more to student life than studying there are plenty places to chill, relax, meet and make friends. There are libraries across our campus with printing facilities, group and quiet areas with open 24 hours a day. From my point of view and from my previous experienced just university focused on the international student about their problems, living and the situation they are handling with it is really hard sometimes to explain and tell the problem with someone.
I am doing the Architecture and Environment Engineering 2nd year. Everything is good about the course. 1st year was nice but in the 2nd year it becomes the tough about course and the lecture cause the physical learning activities are very less and self study is more.
It is alright for the student who are staying near the town and the student accomondation but the student who are staying little far from the university or on the corner of the city it really really hard to reach into the university in time cause there is no transportation facilities from he behalf of university.
- The on campus accommodation is great - The su student shop is great for little bits you need last minute - The library and its different zones are really good depending on what you're going in for e.g., quiet zone, group zone, silent zone etc.
Since I am doing the foundation course, it is not specifically centred around forensic science. It is on science in general which can be a bit boring! But foundation level is a good place to start if you haven't done science in a while or if you don't feel entirely confident going straight into second year. Most of it is in-class, but some is online - maybe once a week.
- The bedroom size is brilliant and the furniture inside is also good e.g., the size of the desk is great. - The bathroom is really nice too, the showers are great. - The kitchens are quite small but this is only really ever a problem if everyone is trying to cook at the same time! - The heating is good too.
