I like the city campus and the ability to be in a social hot spot whilst studying, great area and a lovely city to live in.
Great tutors, very friendly and an interesting topic to learn. Great facilities to access too!
Lovely staff and a great location in regards to campus, shopping and just overall placement. Not the best halls of residence in terms of rooms but definitely not the worst.
The Facilities at Brighton university are the best aspect of the uni. The uni has great study areas and different types of cafes and restaurant, however the food at the university can be expensive for what you get. during my studies at Brighton uni, I experienced poor student support. i have had poor responses from most of my lecturers regarding exams and marks.
Our course is 100% in-person and consists of workshops and lectures. my course of accounting and finance has a good career prospect, many jobs available. I have not been assigned any tutor during my time at uni, and i have had no response when i asked about getting one.
Mithras halls was brand new when i moved in. the location was right next to the campus which is ideal. The halls were expensive but were the only available halls near my campus. The halls facilities such as the gym and bar was not finished when we moved in and were finished after we moved out. The safety of the building was poor, many people including students had access to a master key which let them into any room. Also I had a problem with my windows which leaked when it rained, I had reported the issue a month after I had moved but it was never resolved when i lived there.
The uni has a great atmosphere around the main areas of student life. All tutors are supportive and helpful in guiding both uni and personal life keeping balance. I would recommend brighton uni to anyone considering it.
All in person tutorship and alot of time given yo each student.
Location is great for a local girl with kids. Some better organisation would be better between the module leaders. Last minute timetable changes are not ideal with childcare to facilitate. The extra seminars/support offered is amazing and the tutors are great, relatable, helpful and want you to do well. Campus could do with better toilet facilities but it is due to close in less than two years so it's obvious no money is being put into maintenance at this stage. Great opportunies for nightlife/student life and fun with peers
Content is great. Could be related more to actually how things are done within the NHS.
What I like about my university is the support we achieve if we are in need of or how quick lecturers are responding with a solution to a problem/s. I like how understanding lecturers are and how majority of the lecturers are making the sessions as enjoyable and interesting as possible. What i dislike is the amount of hours between lectures, I usually do my readings in the morning or at night as that is when i concentrate the best and so between my lectures i would like to get a job, but the different programme for every day classes and the weird hours unable me to.
i am not a fan of 2 hour lectures. i personally prefer 1 hour and that is because after a while my focus levels are not as high and i tend to just look at the time when the lecture is going to finish even though i find the subject interesting. Also i know that at university you have to do a lot of work in your own time and look through slides, but i would like if lectures would discuss more about what is new and important rather than talking quite a lot about general thing we all heard over and over.
I am happy with my halls location, i love my room and i am very satisfied with the security stuff checking on us. Very safe place and a great range of activities that they provide.
The best thing about the University of Brighton, and one of the key reasons I chose it, was the amount of access it grants students to the facilities. As Brighton undertakes no research, all the workshops, labs and equipment is available for student use, right from the first year. The technicians are competent, helpful, and are always happen to help with use of the tools available, both for academic or personal use. Downsides of the university of Brighton include somewhat poor communication with students in terms of timetables, course content, and events, and a handful of technical issues with the student portal, app, and student union website. In terms of location, the wide city of Brighton is excellent in term of student life and atmosphere, but the university campuses are a fair distance from the part of Brighton that contains these things. The specific parts of Brighton in which the campuses are located are fine, but a bus journey is required for most social events. Overall, however, I would recommend Brighton as a good choice of university, especially if you are concerned about your ability to adjust to the university setting. I found the support available when I asked for help with my adjustment absolutely incredible - with a wide team of competent staff all proving very generous with their time.
The subject facilities at Brighton are absolutely exemplary. As Brighton undertakes no research, all the workshops, labs and equipment is available for student use, right from the first year. The technicians are competent, helpful, and are always happen to help with use of the tools available, both for academic or personal use. The course content is also of a good variety, and competently delivered. Lecturer availability is also excellent; so far all of my lecturers have been available for contacting outside of lectures and have proved promt and helpful every time I have done so. The only negative I would state is a lack of any kind of module overview being available to see what is coming up in future, as I would very much appreciate this but it has only been available for a few of my modules thus far.
Brighton's public transport is probably the best I've seen. It's not especially cheap, but it is reliable and thorough in its connectivity. The centre of Brighton holds a brilliant student life, and safety is no issue. There is a huge variety of bars and pubs, the beach is lovely, and there are a good variety of other leisure activities such as arcades, cinimas, bowling, etc. Further afield, however, in the council estates and in the parks after dark, I have heard of negative experiences in terms of safety, and there are a handful of places you are advised to avoid in the evenings.
Brighton's univeristy halls are all very modern, only having been built last year and the year before. Facilities are good, room size is good, and the general atmosphere of the surrounding area is pleasent. Cleaning of kitchens and living spaces is good and reliable, though wider areas such as stairwells and the pavement outside the building has seen a build up of debris. The wifi is intermittent, but fast when it is up. The reception staff are keen to help, but don't always know what they are talking about.
Personally, I love my course, the lecturers are great and very helpful and I love the subject. The campus is okay, but they've spent a lot of money adding new buildings when they could have just renovated the older ones to make them more modern.
I love my course, I do Media and Environmental Communication (not just Media) and the content is really fascinating and relevant. I wish they weren't removing the course, as I think more people should do it, it's so current to our climate crisis.
improvements can be made by modernising buildings which will make students feel more comfortable in staying longer in campus
most lecturers are great however some needs extra training in giving students more brief and what to expect
Brighton is a very happy and diverse place to study at
They have things such as Learning support plans and more, to support student with some form of challenges which has been of great help to me coming this far
It is mostly an in-class learning which means early mornings but the university has a bus to help transportation to get to class. Love that it includes seminars that helps to break down and better understand the topic of the lecture and there is constant help with assignments. Can be really long as psychology is such a deep course, this can sometimes be overwhelming.
I felt safer there as there was security on site and knowing my package delivery will always be safe. I got an ensuite which I enjoyed the privacy it brought. The shared kitchen was big and constantly cleaned along with other communal areas. I did not like the shower as I was used to showers with strings you can maneuver.
Support from staff and facilities has been great
Some very good lecturers
