Student Support Services offers an extensive range of services which are in place to assist students in settling in comfortably to their studies, and achieving their full potential.
UEA is dedicated to providing a full programme of support, and has committed a large amount of resources and services to ensuring fast and effective support to all students who need it. The students’ union also performs many roles within the community, including being a point-of-contact which any student can reach out to for help, guidance, or even referral to more specialised services.
Professional advice is available for students with emotional, mental health or disabilities. While at UEA students can also access other advice services for money worries, accommodation trouble and academic issues, among other things.
Students generally felt highly supported throughout their time at UEA, whether this was by their lecturers or tutors, the SU, or services for those with additional needs.

Run by 100 full-time staff and 300 students that have been elected by the student body, the UEA Students' Union is the voice for students on campus. They provide professional advice and support, as well as running many of the shops, bars and a nightclub on campus.
The UEA Students' Union Pub and Bar has recently undergone a GBP 1.2 million refurb, while there is a separate bar and other SU facilities for graduate students.
