All eligible students will receive an offer of university-managed or university-arranged accommodation.
Halls of residence
There are over 2,000 halls of residence places, offering a mix of catered and self-catered accommodation, all with shared communal areas and a kitchen.
Renting locally
The university manages and lets houses to its students on behalf of private landlords. This gives students the benefits of living in the private sector but the security of paying rent to the university.
The university also holds a database of other privately rented properties that meet its standards, which students can access to find accommodation. Nearly a third of first years live in privately rented accommodation.
There is also a private Facebook group where students can find flat shares and housemates.
Homestay
A good option for students looking for a more supportive environment while they settle into university. Students can live with a family, couple or single person in the city.

The University of Brighton’s Students’ Union is run by students, for students. Each year officers are elected to oversee democracy, campus life and community, as well as organising a huge range of events and activities. There are over 100 societies and 50 sports club, and students have the opportunity to gain experience by getting involved in student campaigns or volunteering to become a course rep.
The SU at the University of Brighton offers over 100 societies, with something for everyone, whatever their interests. UK/EU full-time undergraduate students: £9,250 per year.

You'll be shocked by the number of clubs and societies on offer at University of Brighton. There's something for everyone! As well as being able to pick different clubs and societies, most courses let you choose modules at different points through your degree.
As well as personalising your course through optional modules, you may have the chance to do a work placement during your studies. Developing your professional skills through work placements is a great way to add to your CV and boost your employability.
If you want a job you love (and who doesn't?), getting a job in a field you're passionate about is a great place to start. By studying a subject you really enjoy, you'll be qualified for a range of jobs relating to that subject, which you'll hopefully love.
For those who aren't ready to give up on education after an undergraduate degree, you'll have the opportunity to progress to postgraduate study such as a master's or even a PhD.
