It was so bad I had to drop out from 3rd year. Be very careful if you chose to study there. This university have extremely bad reputation for a reason.
All bad
No practical experience
Biassed teachers who will give you good grades only if they personally like you.
The buildings are nice but they miss some indications to find our way. Plus, Paisley is not always very accessible so it's difficult to enjoy student life there.
very few classes (maximum 9h of teaching per week). We don't really go deep into the subjects. My tutor is not really understanding and only provides very little help when I have questions.
it was amazing experience at glos as its my learning final stage. the staff is very cooperative and supportive.
overall it was very nice

Honestly, I am beyond dissapointed with the quality of my course. Do not go to UWS (Lanarkshire) unless you have no other options. First off, class timetables won't be released until the week before you are due to attend the classes. It is currently the 23rd of March, I need to be in class on the 4th of April and still have no idea what days, what times (the fact timetables are released late is the one consistent thing at UWS). They also will not tell you about placements until again a week or two in advance, and considering these placements are full time hours (40-48hrs a week), it is next to impossible to schedule childcare, work schedules, anything within the timeframe between when you get your placement details to when you are physically on placement. When my course begun, they also didnt release my coursework to me until 4-5 weeks AFTER the course had physically begun, so I had no access to any of the work I was suppossed to be doing until over a month into the course. My university also forgot to ensure I was health checked when the pandemic hit, sent me out on placement, realised that wasn't allowed, pulled me out of placement, then because of COVID I couldn't get a health check appointment until halfway through the academic year, at which point I was so behind on placement I had to do a repeat year. Every step of the way I have tried to raise complaints with the university about how unacceptable this all is, and every step of the way they refuse to acknowledge any responsability for these issues. You, as the student, are made to feel all these setbacks are somehow your fault. I have had nothing but negative experiences at this university and I cannot say it enough: DO NOT GO HERE.

The Lanarkshire campus is miles away from anything (which is a shame for transport)

The uni is fantastic but the transport and location is garbage.

massive let down, really poor communication and the student satisfaction for me and my friends has not been good at all, the uni do not communicate with you or really guide you when u start so you need to figure it out yourself, really wouldn’t recommend here
all been online, really poor contact between lecturers
lots of different people in paisley but it’s very rough and you cannot go out after dark alone
ran poorly, room was disgusting when i moved in with mud all over the walls
The lecturers and staff in the uni are all very helpful, kind, friendly. Has made finding out information very easy. Uni is very good at providing updated through email and MyDay as well as having a very informative website. Uni campus is excellent, many different buildings so difficult to find way around to begin with. Gym facilities are great as well as the union for food/ drinks. Not much on campus experience as all classes have been online, majority optional aside from lectures all taking place online. Seminars are optional on campus/ online. Labs all on campus, great science facilities in the building.
Studying online difficult as you are just watching the screen talk to you. Not much student lecture interaction. I find it difficult to speak over the computer, a lot of students in similar situations. Lab facilities are fantastic at uni makes for great demonstrations ect.
Paisley has a bad stigma behind it making me not want to move there. Once I arrived I realised everything was much better than made out to be. Accommodation very close to uni. Transport links are good. Shops in east access. Gym is on campus.
As studying at the Lanarkshire campus, it is very easily accessible for individuals that can drive, not as easy for those who don’t. Incredible facilities within the Lanarkshire campus as it’s all new, with tidy and clean laboratories. Throughout studying during Covid, the lecturers have been very supporting and doing everything they can to adapt and still make the course interactive and stimulating.
Very good course hours, only ever take a 3 days of my week. In my first year everything was on campus however when Covid hit almost all modules have been completely online. Some laboratories have still taken place on campus and all measures have been taken to ensure safety for everyone. Online learning can be demotivating, however many lecturers have done an amazing job at adapting to online learning.
The uni is easily accessible for people that drive, however transport can be quite sparse and it’s a minimum of a mile walk from any housing.
