The University of Greenwich offers around 200 undergraduate courses, ranging from traditional subjects such as law and history to specialist ones such as forensic science and cybernetics. Accommodation is in flats with either a private or shared bathroom. Prices vary depending on location, room-type and size. The Student Village at Avery Hill has a gym, café, shop, Wi-Fi and laundry facilities. Students at Greenwich Campus can choose to live at Avery Hill or in one of the university’s halls of residence in Greenwich, all of which are close to the campus. A free shuttle bus runs to and from Greenwich Campus. A university bus service also runs between Avery Hill/Greenwich Campuses and Medway.
The halls of residence on Medway Campus are close to Chatham and Gillingham town centres, both well-serviced by high-street shops and banks. The Dockside Outlet Centre is also close by with its shops, restaurants and multi-screen cinema.
The university can also provide students who prefer to live off-campus with a list of accredited rooms to rent nearby on Greenwich Studentpad.

In recent years, the university has invested millions in specialist laboratories, and teaching and student facilities.
Dreadnought Building on Greenwich Campus was re-opened in September 2018, after a £25-million renovation. It houses dedicated computing areas and flexible teaching spaces, as well as a gym, student bar and social spaces.
Avery Hill Campus has also undergone significant improvements in recent months. These include a new library, new clinical skills facilities and refurbished teaching spaces.
Each campus has a library, offering students a total of over half a million books, journals and e-resources. Students can access most of the electronic resources remotely and use the online reservation system and self-service kiosks inside the library to borrow and return books and other resources.
Sport plays a major part of university life. There is a gym on every campus, which all students can use for a fee. However, student residents can use their campus gym for free. Avery Hill also has two floodlit all-weather pitches, grass pitches and a sports hall, allowing sports fans to train and compete on campus.

As a member of the student community, students will be at the heart of everything Greenwich does. That includes making sure students get support whenever they need it. Students’ personal tutor will help them get the best out of their studies. They can give learners advice on academic issues such as skills they might need to work on, or option modules they could choose to match their career plan. The university also offers a range of online resources to boost study skills.
Greenwich provides a safe and secure environment for all its students with 24-hour security on campuses. If students live in university accommodation, they can get advice and support from resident assistants.
For students with a disability, specific learning difficulty, mental health condition, and/or long-term medical condition, the Student Wellbeing Service can provide guidance and arrange relevant support. Students can start getting support and advice from the STAART team before they join the university. Avery Hill Campus is just a 10-minute bus journey or a thirty-minute walk from Eltham. This south-east London neighbourhood has a wide expanse of green spaces – perfect for picnics on a sunny day.
