Coventry University is a great place to study for numerous reasons. Nonetheless, it is true that it is difficult to make friends for foreigners, so the university must improve in that aspect.

My experience was through covid but I managed to make the most of it. There’s some great night life in Coventry for those interested in that aspect but there’s also the historical side of Coventry that people can get involved in. The student union is great, there are so many activities and societies to get involved and if there’s nothing you’re interested in you can put forth a new society idea. The library is impressive, open 24hrs a day all year round. It’s great for late nights when you have assignments due. The lecturers are great and are quick to respond to enquiries, particularly the faculty of humanities but sometimes registry is difficult to get hold of. The university facilities could be better, as a lot of the buildings and technology in these buildings is outdated but they are currently working on improving these issues, so it is changing just too late for me, so future students will benefit. I don’t know much about accommodation as I commute but the commute is relatively easy. The university’s is dead centre of Coventry and quite accessible. Overall, it has been a great university for my 3 year course, covid aside. I’d recommend joining societies. I was president of my society and it was the best experience. We travelled to Paris with the unis travel grants they provide to students every year, we even got to experience Disneyland as part of this trip included in the price. we had all the opportunities to study abroad for a year at partner universities and I’d take advantage of these opportunities. Coventrys university lingua mundi programme is also great, why not take up a language while studying. I took Korean and Japanese lessons in my time at university. I also think you should take advantage of the Add vantage modules. It’s a great way to earn new qualifications or study something you find interesting that is associated with your course. It has been the best 3 years and I am continuing to do a masters with Coventry university as they offer excellent alumni offers. I hope you find this useful!

The BA English course at Coventry Univeristy has only been running for a couple of years. My first year was actually the first year they ran the course, so I feel they somewhat were still navigating the course content. However I have seen the improvement they’ve made for younger years on this course. It is impressive to see how much has changed in the last 2 years. My experience was through covid so my first year was entirely on campus with around 8hrs of contact time a week. As an English student, there is the expectation of independent reading and learning outside of contact time which makes up our hours. My second year was difficult we started off on campus with covid measures in place but then as the semester came to an end, the shift to online learning began. The shift to online learning was difficult because no one was really familiar with zoom so a lot of the content was missed out and we were expected to catch up on our own. We still have 8ish hours of online content to do. The third year has been better, the university chose to use blended learning. My first semester all of my modules were on campus, a part from my advantage which was online. The second semester has been on campus with 12 hours contact time. Which is a lot for an English course. The lectures and module options have all been great, it’s what drew me to Coventry university. The dissertation is also optional on BA English course at Coventry Univeristy, you can opt to take extra modules in its place. This is convenient for people who fear having to write 10000 words on one topic. The lectures are easy to get hold off and are amazing at responding and helping out in anyways the can. They understand when things are going on outside of uni and you’re attendance has to be excused. You also build a strong relationship with lecturers because you’re likely to see them more than once each year, doing different modules because the faculty is so small. The opportunities are great and course management encourages us to continue on with masters in the subject at Coventry.

It had a great historical background and shopping is increasing in the area to suit a students taste. There is some amazing restaurants and bars and the nightlife is great. The public transport is great and reliably and Coventry is conventionally in the the centre of England making it accessible from all across the UK
