Overall I am really enjoying my time at university. It is challenging and time consuming however I also take part in a lot of activities and societies so I don’t feel overwhelmed with work.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
The university facilities are nicely spaced out throughout campus. In every building you will find a study area with computers you can use instead of going back to your room so their is a wide range of places you can go and study.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
The tutors and lecturers are really helpful when you need help on something. Their are multiple facilities on campus such as the maths support centre and a few others which are handy to go to for help and guidance.
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
The students union is really good! If offers a whole load of activities to do through out the year and their is always something you can get involved in.
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
It isn’t that great, unfortunately Loughborough university is located in a town so you are limited to certain bars and nightclubs but it is a very safe area at night and it isn’t as expensive as going out in a city.
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
Their are hundreds of clubs and societies to choose from at the university and the choice is amazing. What is great is that a lot of them are affordable so you don’t have to balance that with your food shopping.
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
I like the mixture between lectures, workshop, group work and independent learning. It means that you meet a lot of people on your course but also have the availability to learn more on a topic in your own time. However I struggle when we have 4 hours of lectures in a row as my lack of concentration decreases through out the day ( especially without breaks).
How many contact hours per week do you have?
20
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
Every week the university organise companies to come and talk about what type of jobs you can do with them. They also organise placement fairs and also cv reviews etc.
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
It’s very nice, myself and my flatmates keep it tidy which is also a bonus. The kitchen is spacious and the bed is a good size ( also when you have someone round ). Their is enough space for food in the cupboards if you arrange it all correctly.

Not too much in town, for nights out but short journey to Nottingham. Train station is very far from the uni and the bus service is unreliable and expensive.
