There are only 60 students on our course which is tiny compared to the likes of the University of Birmingham and Keele University. Unlike those other university where you are just a number, here at UCB you are a name not a number and have 1-1 support available for everyone. Lecture theatres are mice and small so no echos. Most of this course is based in Moss house - a modern and compact building split over 3 floors which include a gym, specialist training unit, lecture theatres, classrooms a canteen and cafe. Some classes may also be on Macintyre house but most are in Moss. The link is used often by me as it houses the library and student services. Summer row is uphill from these building but if you want a snack from the bakery or a massage at the beauty school then be sure to go up there for a cheap but great treatment. Most of the buildings specifically the lecture rooms have very poor or no service which isn’t good if you are someone that has frequent urgent calls such as being a sole carer or single parent. This isn’t helped by the fact that the wifi for both students and visitors is also intermittent so you can’t use other messaging and call services like iMessage, WhatsApp and social media. Student support in regards to the CASE team and library is great however the disability team is poor. They have put in not taking support whilst there are delays with DSA but the actual adjustments such as height adjustable desks, accessible seating, parking, carer ID cards etc have not been sorted and are a constant battle. It is a hard one to judge them on disability support as my previous university (Keele) were shockingly bad so this is no where near as bad. Accommodation is limited with no accessible studio rooms so not suitable for those with allergies or conditions requiring repressed preparation facilities. I feel like I have focused on the bad things here but it is a great university. It may not be the size of my last campus but everyone knows each other on the course and there is a great level of teamwork between students and staff.

Great lecturers. 1-1 support available to all students. A lot more face-to -face contact compared to past university. Some very intense modules such as anatomy and physiology but great course so far.
