Being in a great city provides a lot of opportunities for students to explore and experience different cultures. Additionally, the university offers a wide variety of activities and clubs that allow students to get involved in extracurricular activities and make new friends. The mental health support system is also noteworthy, as it provides students with the resources they need to maintain their well-being. However, one area that could be improved is academic support for international students. While the university does a great job of providing support in general, it could do more to familiarise international students with the grading system. This could include offering workshops or tutoring sessions specifically for international students to help them understand the expectations and requirements of the university's grading system.

One of the best aspects of my course is that it is well-structured. The curriculum is well thought-out and the materials provided are clear and relevant to the course. However, one of the worst aspects of my course is that in one of the modules, we were working with a robot that was quite buggy. This required some prior knowledge of python, which according to the course regulations, we were not required to know at the start of the course. This caused some frustration for me as I struggled with the material and the lab lead was not much help. Another issue is the class size, the class size of my cohort is quite large and because of this the feedback time for courseworks is extremely long and lectures are not as effective. The large class size also makes it harder to have direct contact with lecturers and get personalised feedback.

The location of my university is truly fantastic. One of the things I love most about it is how affordable it is. The cost of living is relatively low, making it easy for students to stretch their budget and make the most of their time at university. Additionally, it's a peaceful and serene place, with a good balance of city life and nature. The city offers a great range of activities and events, from cultural festivals to outdoor activities. The hills around the city offer a great opportunity for students to stay active and healthy and will definitely give your calves a workout.

One of the things I like most about the university's halls is the convenient layout. The halls are located close to university buildings and the city centre, making it easy for me to get to classes and explore the city. However, an aspect that could be improved is the sound insulation. On a few occasions, I have received feedback from my flatmate regarding some noise coming through the walls. This has made me more conscious of trying to minimise noise and maintain a peaceful environment for my flatmate. The thin walls can make it challenging to have a sense of privacy.
