Tell us about your overall university experience so far.

One of the best. I have explored and experienced so many things. I have met incredible people and they have opened my eyes to so many possibilities with mt degree. The environment has helped me enjoy learning and I would recommend this experience to anyone. My advice to future students would be to take full advantage of University because the freedom of choice is so worth it.

Facilities

How good are your university's facilities?

Incredible. New and Improved. I have access to anything and everything I need and more.

Student support

How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).

As best as can be. I can contact my tutors whenever I need, I know where to go and who to talk to. There are open door policies for my tutors making me more confident to approach them.

Students' union

What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?

I dont get involved because I barely have time. The union is on the other side of campus and I am also on placement at the moment. However, I have had some positive impact because of the union, e.g. I am a part of an incredible LGBT+ society and even though I barely have time to meet in person, they are very active on Social Media.

Local life

Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?

Beautiful. My Uni is literally next door to Eldon Square and the rest of Newcastle Town, it makes me feel warm and at home.

Societies and Sports

How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?

I am only a part of one society being LGBT+ and they are so positively vibrant and friendly and dedicated to an incredible cause.

Lecturers and teaching quality

What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?

I love the amount of resources I have available and the amount of time and money the University puts in to enhance my learning environment. I am not that big of a fan of my University tutors changing from time to time due to last minute timetabled changes but those are unexpected and unforeseen and barely affect my work flow.

How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?

I have been given expensive help to obtain a placement as a part of my degree. I am currently on it right now actually, at Nissan Sunderland. A huge opportunity that my University helped me secure through their professional and dedicated careers employment department. As a matter of fact, the uni still helps me increase my employment skills as a placement tutor is coming to visit and advise on my progress.
