It’s a great university!

It's a great place to study as it is a very green campus, creating a relaxing environment to study. I enjoy the students' union and there is easy access to the town center using bus routes that go through the main campus, however, I would like to see a quick bus route to access the other campus (London Road) as I currently live in halls on the main campus and sometimes due to weather conditions, it is not ideal to walk to lectures.

I most enjoy the breadth of resources we can lend to support us as trainee teachers and facilities such as the Learning Hub which only students doing teaching-related courses have access to. The course is entirely taught in-class but I would like to see some blended learning as certain lectures could easily be taught online as they are not very practical/hands-on. I also feel the assignment deadlines for my course could be spread out a bit more by having module leaders communicate effectively with one another.

The best part about staying in Wessex has got to be the value for money - it has been recently refurbished and so the rooms are clean and comfortable to live in. I also love that it has the old open halls style (I believe the only halls at the university with this) as this creates a social atmosphere, allowing you to get to know more people in your halls. Regular cleaners are another upside, with kitchen cleaners visiting once a week and the bathrooms being cleaned every weekday which is very hygienic. I least enjoy the trek from the ground floor entrance to my room/shared kitchen several floors up, especially when moving in and carrying heavy shopping. To improve this, the lift should be fixed and made accessible to residents. The worst part about staying in Wessex hall, for me, has got to be the lack of space in the kitchen per person. I share a kitchen with 10 other people and there's not quite enough room for 1 freezer drawer and 1 fridge shelf for each person which needs to be looked into.
