I’ve really enjoyed my time at uni so far, met some great friends and my course is stimulating and I like the way I’m tested using a range of coursework and exam - this works for me to avoid me feeling to stressed about either element. Having used accommodation in previous years I’ve found it to be good quality and modern but even taking this level of comfort into account it is still expensive, that’s why I’m living at home and commuting 2hrs a day this year.

Good lots of things on site, laundry is quite expensive and gets very busy at times though, modern academic and sports facilities

Tutors aren’t given too many students so they have the time to actually support them and get to know them personally. Feedback is generally good but sometimes lacks detail, which is understandable when they have hundreds of pieces of coursework to get back to us within 4 weeks! Haven’t personally used the council long service, I’ve heard it’s good but has a long waiting list (walk ins for emergencies which is good but lacking in ongoing care).

Frequent student surveys and things actually change based on the info they collect in these, good SU nightclub, small on site shop and an onsite pub as well as coffee shops which is good.

Yes, within walking distance from 2 major supermarkets and a few smaller convenience stores as well as some clothes shops and there’s a regular bus in the day time too which helps when carrying food shopping home.

Loads of sports, but most of the other societies are religious, so if you’re not into sports or religious there’s a lot less options available

Like: Wide range of teaching including lectures, workshops, tutorials and lab work. Mix of coursework and exam. Friendly approachable lecturers. Lecturer capture is great as you can rewatch lectures to help during revision. Dislike: group work with students of very mixed ability effectively means the brighter student(s) end up doing all the work which is unfair and not representative of team work in the workplace.

Great award winning careers department, they help with all aspects including applying for grad jobs, placements, part time work and setting up your own business. Built in “graduate employability attributes” into every course e.g. teamwork, being global facing, IT skills

It is a good uni with lots to offer very happy with it. Enjoyed my time and made good use of the careers advise facilities. Will continue to be part of the alumni
